White Chicken Karahi Recipe

Here is chicken white handi/karahi recipe also known as white chicken recipe or white karahi recipe. This recipe is very famous among Asians. We hope you will love the way we cooked it.


  • Chicken – 1 kg
  • Plain Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Oil or Ghee – 1/2 cup
  • Onions, finely chopped – 2
  • Ginger paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander seeds, crushed – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds, crushed – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper – As required
  • Salt – to taste

Ingredients for Garnishing

  • Fresh Coriander leaves, chopped – 1/2 bunch
  • Green Chillies, thinly sliced – 2 to 4
  • Ginger, thinly sliced – 1 inch piece


  1. In a karahi heat the oil on medium high heat and saute ginger and garlic paste in it.
  2. Add onion in ginger and garlic mixture and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until translucent.
  3. Add chicken and cook for 20 more minutes. If the water of chicken does not dries, then keep cooking until all the water of chicken dries.
  4. Add 2 cup of water, cumin, coriander, salt and mix it well.
  5. Now add yogurt and black pepper. Until the oil separates from the gravy and meat tenderize keep cooking on high flame.
  6. Adjust the seasoning. Garnish with sliced ginger, fresh coriander leaves and green chillies. Delicious white boneless chicken karahi is ready to serve.
